Restaurant Team Member – Caterham

Silk Road is recruiting part-time Restaurant Team Members for our Caterham restaurant.

You may start in the area that best suits your experience or interests, including waiting and table service, bar and beverages, food preparation, kitchen support, curry assembly, grill and tandoor, food running and order pass.

You do not need experience in every area. We provide structured training and, as your skills develop, you can become trained and certified across additional parts of the restaurant.

Previous restaurant, bar, kitchen, retail or customer-service experience can be useful, but it is not essential for every position.

What you may do

Depending on your training and certification, your work may include:

• waiting and table service;

• taking orders and using the till/POS;

• bar and beverage preparation;

• food preparation;

• curry and food assembly;

• tandoor, chargrill and hot-line work;

• food running and pass;

• replenishment and kitchen support;

• opening, cleaning and closing duties.
  

This is a flexible Restaurant Team Member role. You may initially spend more time in the area where you are strongest, but Team Members are expected to train across additional stations and may be rostered according to business need once competent.

Hours

This is a part-time role, typically offering around 6–12 contracted hours per week, with opportunities for additional shifts depending on availability, performance and business requirements.

Evening and weekend availability is particularly useful.

Training and progression

Our internal development pathway is:

Team Member → Certified Team Member → Team Trainer → Shift Leader

Progression is based on demonstrated competence rather than job title or length of service.
